Scott D. Baker, CFA
The founder and President of SD Baker & Associates Inc. is Scott Baker, CFA. Mr. Baker has extensive experience
in managing US and Canadian portfolios in the high net worth and pension markets including 10 years as an analyst
and portfolio manager with Connor Clark of Toronto and Connor Clark & Lunn of Vancouver and five years as a portfolio
manager with Nigel Stephens Counsel of Toronto. Mr. Baker is a member of the Toronto Society of Financial Analysts
and the American Institute of Management and Research and is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario's Ivey
Business School. He received his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1991 and is a registered portfolio
manager in Ontario.
Robert Douglas Binnington, BA (Honours)
Rob Binnington joined the firm in November 2007 and provides research and administrative support to SD Baker & Associates.
He is a graduate of Queen's University with medial concentrations in Geographic Information Science (G.I.S.) and
Music. During his term at Queen's University, Rob studied Geological Sciences providing him with the background
and interest for research within the mineral resource and petroleum industries. Rob has been actively trading
and investing independently in the Canadian and American equity markets for over six years. He has previously held
positions in management, business administration, and academic research. Rob contributes analysis, investment
ideas, and trading support for all four funds.
The Prime Broker and Custodian for the clients of SD Baker & Associates is the National Bank of Canada's NBCN division. NBCN is a member of the Canadian Investor Protection Fund (CIPF). The accounting firm of SGGG LLP is responsible for calculating monthly unit values for the Global Opportunities Fund, and for providing the appropriate tax receipts to unit holders at the end of each year.
In addition to our extensive in-house market and stock research, SD Baker & Associates utilizes or partners with dozens of independent research firms including the Bank Credit Analyst (BCA), Grant’s Interest Rate Observer, the CFA Institute and the Economic Cycle Research Institute.
